Hi, I’m Thor an adventurous Icelander who’s been living in Berlin for the past 5 years. I first came to Berlin in 1991 as a student, and living here in the mid-nineties made a lasting impression on me. I kept close ties with the city and have seen it change for the past 25 years after having lived in Prenzlauer Berg, now one of Berlin’s trendy hotspots. As I love this “wild” creative city that Berlin is and being a world traveler, decided to move back here in 2017. I studied Hotel Management both in Switzerland and in the US ( Las Vegas) and thus was in the hotel and retail business also for nearly 20 years. But as I love to ride my bike with friends and family who come to visit, I decided to join Fat Tire Tours as it is very rewarding to see people discovering Berlin for the first time. Riding a bike in Berlin is a great way to both see and discover the city as it is an integral part of the commute here. I often say; “live life as an adventure” hence hope to see you hop on one of our tours soon and discover this “sexy” city.

Cristina has been working as a tour guide if Florence since 2012, and she is still madly in love with her job. She was born in the center of Italy but moved to Florence many years ago. She immediately felt a deep bond with this enchanting city.

My favorite place: On my way home, I love to pass in front of the church of Santa Maria Novella at sunset when the marbles of the facade turn pink. It’s a unique atmosphere; so dreamy!

My favorite food: Almost every one! I’m a good eater…but mainly pasta with all kinds of toppings, including my very long cooking ragù.

My favorite place to visit: Signoria square by night, when a supernatural silence falls on the ancient buildings and the imposing sculptures reveal all their inner life.

Fun facts: Among the funniest requests made by customers (so many indeed) I especially remember the time I had to convert a classic city tour into a yellow-buildings-tour (clients were looking for the right shade of yellow to plaster their stately mansion…).

Hi, I’m Chris. I come from a city in the North of England called Leeds, from which I arrived in Paris in October 2017 with my wife Joanne and my 11 year old Staffy, Harley.

After settling into the French lifestyle, I was lucky to come across Fat Tire Tours, and have been with the company since March 2018. I started helping with the bikes on a morning, and then progressed to giving tours.

Paris is such a different city to my home town of Leeds. I know every back alley, corner and street in Leeds, I can’t say the same for Paris, I discover something new every time I take my camera into the city. I love sharing my love and enthusiasm for our beautiful city with our customers, which is rich in history and beauty, especially in the spring time!

I speak English, Yorkshire and French, with a smattering of German.

I’ve travelled extensively across the globe during my time in the Royal Navy, and I’d love to say my favourite city on the planet is Rio, New York, Montevideo or San Francisco (all of which are amazing) but I truly mean this when I say my favourite city is Paris, it has a feel that I’ve never experienced anywhere else, and I love it……and the foods not bad either.

My favourite tour to give is Monet’s Garden, it’s a great way to see some of the Normandy countryside, and of course you get to experience the beautiful garden Monet designed and built, which was the basis for so many of his now World famous paintings.

Whichever tour you chose to do with Fat Tire, you can expect an outstanding experience, filled with history, stories, jokes, humour, and a great guide to take you on the journey.

Hi, I’m Dave from Adelaide, Australia. I moved to Paris in 2015 and after arriving I was working as a freelance Graphic Designer. Feeling the urge to get out from behind a computer I decided to try my hand at being a tour guide with Fat Tire! I love meeting people from around the world and showing off this wonderful city. In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching sport, going to concerts and taking photographs.

I’ve been lucky enough to do a good amount of traveling in my life and picking a favourite country to visit is way too tough, so I’ll cheat and name 3… Zimbabwe, Spain & Montenegro.
I speak English (with a pretty hefty Australian accent) and French.

My favourite Fat Tire tour is the Day Bike tour. I love cycling through the streets and sharing the history of Paris with our guests.

Hi, I’m Ogulcan but people simply call me OJ. I’m from Turkey and I’ve been in ‘La France’ for 5 years. It’s been 4 years since I’ve joined the Fat Tire family.

How did I get into guiding? George Costanza once said, “I like sports, I could be a general manager of a baseball team.” My version was, “I like history and I cycle all the time. Maybe I could be a tour guide on a bicycle.” Turns out the perfect company does exist and our paths crossed. Plus, Paris is a city that keeps surprising me with its interesting facts. Cycling and giving tours in Paris is like cycling through centuries to me.

I speak English, French and Turkish.

My favorite country to visit? I must say Spain. The history, it’s beaches, and food is just a perfect combination!

My favorite tour? I am going to go with Versailles Bike Tour. The town of Versailles has just so much to offer; the Market, the Château with its beautiful park and the canal where we sit for a picnic and share our food and stories. I always enjoy talking about history but also listening to our visitors and I’m always learning something new from them!

Lucilla or Lucy has been a guide since 2012 which is the same year she moved to Rome. She was Born in Naples and… be careful because she is VERY proud of it, and always happy to give suggestions on how best to enjoy the beauty of her city and the surroundings. But she is in love with Rome and she’s still discovering new and beautiful corners of the city.

Lucy believes that you cannot visiting Italy without experiencing the food tradition… you should always leave with a little heavier than you arrived!

Her favourite areas of the city centre are the Jewish district and Trastevere but in the day time when all is quiet, there is magic. She loves the local markets and the green parks of the city to relax, walk, and meet people and her favourite of these is the Appian Way Park with Caffarella and the Acqueducts.

Hi there everyone! My name is Daniela, I was born and raised in Mexico City. I only speak Spanish, English and French but I would like to learn many more languages.

I moved to Paris in 2016 and I immediately fell in love with this vibrant and gorgeous city.

Why do I enjoy tour guiding? Cycling around one of the most beautiful cities in the world and having the chance to have fun with new people every day!

It’s an incredibly rewarding experience, it has also given me the perfect excuse to delve deeper into one of my lifelong passions: history.

My favorite country to visit: Croatia! It has everything you need for an unforgettable holiday; wonderful people, delicious food and a natural scenery that truly makes you feel like you’re in paradise

Nate is a versatile manager who juggles two kids and full-time tour guiding like a boss. While this family-man from Detroit, Michigan, majored in business and German back in the day, you’ll now find him on a set of wheels sharing his knowledge and passion for Berlin.

Two of his tips: a visit to the former Stasi prison in Hohenschönhausen, guided by former inmates, leaves a powerful impression and for one of the best hamburgers in Berlin he recommends a lunch stop at any one of the six Burgermeister locations.

Guido has been working with Fat Tire Tours, Florence for 3 years.

Originally from Venice, he first moved to Tuscany at the age of 14, and to Florence after high school. He immediately fell in love with this magical town.

His favorite neighborhood is Campo di Marte, located in the soccer stadium area. Guido loves football in the same way he loves Segway tours

He recommends a good “ panino col lampredotto”, a bottle of red Chianti Classico wine and to see the city at sunrise from Piazzale Michelangelo.
